The overall aim of EDACate is to evaluate and exchange good practice methods on training/teaching participation and citizenship. We want to create a comprehensive compendium of hands-on methods on European level. In order to achieve this main goal the implementation phase of the project will lead to 5 main results.
Result 1
Elaboration of approximately 100 good practice methods of teaching and training participation and citizenship in Europe, based on a commonly developed and tested evaluation grid. The good practices methods will be presented on 7 transnational meetings. The results will be uploaded on the website in form of short texts following the same structure to allow comparison. The short texts of the evaluations will be translated by the participants in their own language. As an outcome, an ebook and a summary booklet will be edited and made accessible in electronic format translated in all of the project’s languages( see as well result 5).
Result 2
The development of an evaluation tool/ criteria catalogue to identifying good practice. The evaluations will be prepared on the base of a previously determined structure, the evaluation grid. The evaluation grid will be translated by the partners in their own languages and up-loaded on the project website to be accessible for all stakeholders. The evaluation grid will be based on a commonly created criteria catalogue, which will be as well published. It is foreseen to improve and discuss the catalog and grid permanently.
Result 3
7 policy recommendations papers. Based on the presented methods and input of expertise by every partner, the partnership will conclude each meeting with a policy recommendation. The recommendations will be published on the webpage and will form a part of the project eBook. The recommendations will summarize the discussions during the meetings and with stakeholders on the the different topics. They will be centered around recommendations in training/teaching participation and citizenship in:
1. Adult Education
2. Non-formal education
3. Higher education
4. Volunteer training
5. Youth education
6. European NGOs
7. Vocational training
The policy recommendation will contribute to the sustainability of the project and underline the cross-sectoral approach.
Result 4
7 input discussion papers. During the meetings each partner will provide input by an expertise contribution. The contributions will be either performed by the partner organizing the meeting or local stakeholders. We defined already beforehand within the partnership, which competences and expertise exist and which inputs will give additional value to the partnership. The received input will be summarized in report papers. The papers will be published and added to the project eBook.
The partners will prepare the following inputs:
1.Intercultural Youth Dialogue Association e.V. will provide an overview of using participation and citizenship within adult education.
2.”YES” will give input on experiences in non-formal education. They will further provide information on the challenges of participation in peripheral and rural areas.
3.Border crossing will present approaches on participation through non verbal methods such as Acting and theatre performance. They will highlight their role in promoting participation and citizenship through Artistic methods.
4.Swideas will share experiences on working with youth organisation on participation. Since they are strongly involved to strengthen the employability of youth, they will reflect on the potential of participation and citizenship in those processes.
5.Crossing borders DK the partner will share information on how to train/teach volunteers. The Danish partner is working actively on the activation of communities and provide the partnership with those perspectives.
6.Edu Compass will share experience on how training of participation and citizenship can be tackled on European level and explains the role of transnational networks.
7.Action Synergy Greece will provide an overview on teaching citizenship in formal, vocational environments.
Result 5
A project eBook. The eBook will be the main dissemination project. It will summarize all methods, recommendations and inputs. The eBook will be edited and reviews by the German lead partner. Summaries will be translated in all 7 project languages (German-English-GreekBulgarian-Italian-Swedish and Danish). It is foreseen to have at least 500 copies to be downloaded within the first two month. The eBook will be used for further dissemination and will be uploaded to all webpages of the partners and onto the major European Union dissemination platforms (such as Erasmus+ Project Results Platform, Eurydice, eTwinning and Epale in addtion to own partner websites and other stakeholders, and social networks etc.)
