Impact

European Dialogue for Active Citizenship

Expected impact on participants

We expect all participants of the project to be more conscious about participation and citizenship in their work. We expect them to be ready to share their new knowledge, to teach and encourage others to get involved. In identifying new, creative methods we except the participants to become curiouse themselves and start to be motivated to participate in lifelong learning. Knowing their rights as European citizens and knowing new tools and methods in participation will motivate the participants to become a more active and smart citizens, implementing change in their neighborhood or community.

Lifelong learning in general strengthens the feeling that everybody can succeed and everybody IS worthy and capable. It also helps participants preventing students of getting dropped out of education since making learning fun through new tools and methods motivates and encourages involvement.

Expected impact on participant organizations

All partners, who had been chosen to join the consortium, have already or will create a European Development Plan. The partnership can be understood as a part of this strategy. We expect the participant organizations to get motivated to improve their hard and soft skills in participation and citizenship. The organizations will improve their capacity to perform trainings in the fields of the project and modify their already existing curricula with new, innovative methods. By adding the European dimension, we expect the partner organization to transfer good practices, increase their internationalizations and to be motivated to participate in further European activities. The partnership will encourage the continued development of the European strategies and the use of European certificates such as Europass within the partner organizations. The use of the Europass tools will professionalize the certification and validation system within the participating organisations. This will help to make the activities of each partner more visible and open the organisations for international learners.

Exapcted impact on the target groups

In the project we are focused on different target groups. The main target groups are teachers, trainers and social workers, working in the training of participation and citizenship. The indirect target groups are learners in all educational sectors, or citizens living or being active in their communities.

We expect that the facilitators will gain a new tool to train and teach empowerment of citizen participation. The method handbook will provide easy hands-on tools, providing innovative methods, which will motivate the learners to stay involved. The learners learn about empowerment, how to get involved, strengthen their awareness on social and political processes and make them aware of their rights as an European citizen. Teaching participation and citizenship strengthen the employability of the learners. The learners will have a stronger personality and a strengthen sense for local, and through the connection with good practice in other European countries, their European citizenship. It will help to fight back radicalization and help the inclusion of espacilly disadvantaged learners ( e.g. migrants, long term unemployed, elderly and other social disadvateged learners).

Relevant stakeholders are for us:
-organisations and individuals being active in social and civil activation
-schools and other educational institutions
-researchers in the field of pedagogy, and social studies
-local, national and European politicians

In the partnership we want to share and learn good practice including those stakeholders. Therefore we foresee the involvement of local stakeholder in each transnational meetings. They will provide feedback on the good practices, the input reports and the policy recommendations. This will secure that their voices are heard and create an impact on the political agenda. Schools and training provider will gain new methods and share their experiences. This will increase their knowledge and help them to discover new strategies to develop their existing approaches on teaching and Training participation, empwerment and Citizenship. This will increase the quality of the curricula and provide innovative tools, which will keep learners motivated in increasing their social competences.

In research the partnership is designed to work cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary. The partnership is searching for research approaches, which will stimulate new ways of dealing with empowerment and citizen participation in Europe.
